Rouse earns third Sportsman win at Humberstone

Brad Rouse scored his third win of the season for the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman Sunday night at Humberstone Speedway . Chad Homan won his third Maple Leaf Foods RUSH Late Model feature of 2017, while defending champion Dave Bailey won his second JC Auto Street Stock feature of the season. Jason Coutu won his first Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks feature of the season, and Kyle Tomaski won his third Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks feature of the season.

Adam Leslie and Tyler Puchalski made up the front row for the 25-lap feature for the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman, with Leslie taking the lead and Rouse taking over second from Puchalski. Rouse closed in on Leslie and took the lead on Lap 7. Rouse pulled away from the field to score his third win of the season. Tyler Puchalski, Adam Leslie, Cody McPherson and Dave Flannigan Jr. completed the top five.

Jeff Dayman jumped into the lead from the drop of the green flag in the 20-lap Maple Leaf Foods RUSH Late Model feature. Homan took the lead from Dayman on Lap 8 and pulled away to score his third win of the season. Dayman, Rob Pietz, Sam Pennacchio and Tim Gillespie rounded out the top five.

Jim Lampman and Jason Fontaine set the pace for the JC Auto Street Stocks 20-lap feature event, with Lampman showing the way in front of a three-wide battle for second between Billy Bleich Jr., Jason Fontaine and Bailey. Fontaine took the lead away on Lap 3 and then had a three-wide battle for the lead with Bailey and Ken Sargent on Lap 7 with Bailey taking over the lead. Bailey pulled away for his second win of the season, followed by Fontaine, Ryan Dinning, Kyle Pelrine and Sargent.

The racing action continues at Humberstone on Sunday, July 16 as the Metro Group of Companies presents a full card of racing plus Vintage Cars, All Canadian Championship Time Trials for the RUSH Late Models and Autograph Night. Pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m., with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. and racing scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Keep up with the action at
