Rob Murray was victorious in the inaugural John Susice Memorial for the KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks at Ransomville Speedway on Friday evening. Jesse Cotriss won his second Krown Undercoating Modified feature of the season, while Jim Harbison won his first career Investors Service Sportsman feature. Cole Susice won his third Gippster’s Collision 4 Bangers feature of the season, and David Fingerlow won his first career Stevenson’s Hardware Novice Sportsman feature.
The Street Stocks were led to the green flag by Mike Kramarz and Jordan Moden, with Kramarz leading until Lap 7, when Dave Bailey took over the lead. Murray took the lead away from Bailey with five to go, but Bailey retook the lead coming off Turn 2. Casey Jonathan leaked fluid on the race track to bring out the caution with three laps remaining, and on the restart Bailey hit the Turn 4 wall with a flat right front tire. Jake Stefanski and Brian Monahan came together on the front straightaway to bring out the caution with one lap to go, and Murray held off Jaren Israel to score the win.
Jim Zimmerman and Jesse Cotriss brought the Modifieds to the green flag for their 30-lap feature, with Cotriss jumping into the lead and never looking back; at the halfway mark, Cotriss’ lead was up to nearly six seconds. Cotriss pulled away from the field and led every lap to score his second win of the season nearly a month after his first career Modified victory.
The 60th season of racing at Ransomville Speedway continues on Friday, August 4 as Performance Mfg. and Jeffery Machine presents the $1,000-to-win Sid Jeffrey Memorial for the Investors Service Sportsman.
