On a very busy Sunday night at Humberstone Speedway, Cody McPherson and Brad Rouse earned victories in the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman on Verge Insurance Center Night. Rob Pietz and Sam Pennacchio each took home the checkered flags in the Maple Leaf Foods RUSH Late Models. Jim Lampman and Jason Fontaine took wins in the two main events for the JC Auto Street Stocks. Kyle Haynes won the main event for the Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks, Dylan Llord scored another win in the Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks, and Max Chechuk survived the field and won the Demolition Derby. The Sportsman, Late Models, and Street Stocks all raced in makeup features from last Sunday’s rainout.
McPherson picked up his first win of the season in the rained out feature from July 16 for the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman, with Chad Chevalier, Mark Chiddy, Adam Leslie, and Jay Mallory rounding out the top five. In the regularly scheduled 25-lap feature, Rouse earned his fourth feature win of the season, followed by McPherson, Leslie, Justin Sharp, and Chevalier.
Pietz scored his first win of the season in the rained out feature for the Maple Leaf Foods RUSH Late Models, holding off Chad Homan, Pennacchio, Jeff Dayman and Colton Ledingham to get the win. In the second 20-lap feature for the Late Models, Pennacchio took home his second win of the season. Pietz, Tim Gillespie, Dayman and Homan rounded out the top five finishers.
In the first 20-lap feature for the JC Auto Street Stocks, Lampman took the win over Dave Bailey, Billy Bleich Jr., Jason Fontaine, and Kyle Pelrine. In the nightcap, Fontaine used a late race pass to get around defending track champion Bailey to score his first win of the season, with Pelrine, Ryan Dinning, and Bleich Jr. completing the top five.
The racing action continues at Humberstone on Sunday, July 30 as the Reeb House presents a full card of racing plus the second visit of the season by the Crate Sprint Cars. Time Trials for the All Canadian Championships will also be held for the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. followed by grandstands at 5 p.m. and racing scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Keep up with the action at www.humberstonespeedway.com.
