Emerling earns Pro Modified win at Holland

Patrick Emerling won the main event for the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Agency NASCAR Pro Modifieds on Saturday evening at Holland International Speedway. Nik Welshans won his first Bank of Holland Charger feature of the season, while Dave Wollaber picked up his third NYPA TQ Midget win of the season. Josh Schosek won his first career feature event for the Advance Auto Parts Hornets, Anthony Riforgiato won his first career INEX Legends feature, and Marty Hughes won his third M&M U Pull-It Figure 8 car feature of the season.

Timmy and Amy Catalano led the field of Pro Modifieds to the green flag, with Timmy leading early followed by older brother Tommy in second and Kirk Totten passing Amy Catalano for third; Tommy passed Timmy for the lead on Lap 7. Emerling moved into second place on Lap 14 and took the lead from Tommy Catalano on Lap 15. After Dean Kroll spun in Turn 2 to bring out the caution with 12 laps remaining, Emerling pulled away from Tommy Catalano off the restart and went on to score his first win of the season at Holland. Tommy and Amy Catalano finished second and third, respectively, followed by Eldon King III and Eddie Hawkins to round out the top five.

Justin Myers and Jim Loffredo brought the field of Bank of Holland Chargers to the green flag for their 25-lap feature with Myers taking the lead as Loffredo had rear end issues in his car. Nik Welshans took command of the field on Lap 7 and ran away from the field to score his first win of the season at Holland. Justin Myers finished second, followed by Tim Welshans, Josh Hathaway and Dave Wilson.

Holland’s 58th season of racing continues on Saturday, July 15 with the Mid-Season Championships, featuring a full card of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action. Pit gates will open at 3:30 p.m., with grandstands opening at 5:45 p.m., qualifying at 6 p.m. and NASCAR feature racing at 7:05 p.m. Keep up with the action at
