The wet month of May continues to plague Ransomville Speedway, as management was forced to pull the plug on the Memorial Day Weekend event on Friday, May 26 due to saturated grounds. This is the third time in four weeks that the racing action was interrupted by Mother Nature.
“The rain that has fallen over the last 24 hours plus the rain that is expected in the forecast throughout the day has forced us to cancel tonight,” said Ransomville Speedway General Manager Jenn Martin.
The double features that were scheduled for the Street Stocks and Novice Sportsman will now take place on Friday, June 16. The scheduled Military Appreciation Night will now take place on Friday, July 7.
“We appreciate all that have served and currently are serving in the military and we really want this night to happen, so we have rescheduled it for July 7,” said Martin.
Racing will resume at the Big R on Friday, June 2 as A-Verdi Storage Containers and Johnston’s Restaurant presents the Patriot Sprint Tour plus double features for the Investors Service Sportsman. Joining the Patriot Sprints and the Sportsman will be the KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks, Gippsters Collision 4 Bangers, and Stevenson’s Hardware Novice Sportsman. Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. with grandstands opening at 6 p.m. and racing starting at 7:15 p.m. Keep up with the action at www.ransomvillespeedway.com.
