Lancaster National Dragway kicked off Labor Day weekend with Franco’s Pizza Friday Night IHRA Drag Racing plus the final appearance of the season by the Buffalo Street Outlaws and TNT Hot Rod Series.
The Buffalo Street Outlaws final round featured the two most recent winners at Lancaster with Moe Alfaqih defeating Ed McGuinn, who left the starting line too soon to give Alfaqih his second win of the year. Chris Halton won the Buffalo Street Outlaws Limited Street class by beating Darrow Rumsey on a starting line hole-shot.
Jim Thomson took top honors in the TNT Hot Rod Series, defeating former Super Gas competitor Bill Elekes in the finals. Zell Gaymon picked up his third win of the season in Top 8 after beating Ernie Masullo in the finals.
Dave Surmatchewski took the win light in Mallare Enterprises Top ET with a hole-shot advantage over George Pease. Guy Menard earned his first career win in McGard Mod ET, beating Jeff Kerl in the finals. Hebeler’s Sleds & Bikes was a motorcycle versus snowmobile final, with the snowmobile of Pete Marston besting the bike of Drew Nearhoof to get the win. Dan Knab scored his second win of the year in Tread City Tire Street.
Lancaster National Dragway is off this Friday, September 9 for IHRA Team Break Finals in Pittsburgh. Action resumes on September 16 with the Gasser Racing Series joining Lancaster’s weekly classes. Find out more at www.lancasternationalspeedway.com.
