Tom Northem and Zach Myers scored the wins in the Twin 25s for the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Agency NASCAR Pro Chargers Saturday night at Holland International Speedway, while Ben Russo and Jeff Szafraniec picked up the victories in the Bank of Holland Hornets twin features. Brandon DeBrakeleer picked up his fourth win of the season for the Advance Auto Parts INEX Legends, Dale Lombardo took the win in the Rookie 4’s, and Jim Steins earned his fifth win of the season in the M&M U Pull-It Figure 8’s.
The first of two 25 lappers for the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Agency NASCAR Pro Chargers was led to the green flag by Nik Welshans and Jim Mallaber, with Welshans jumping into the lead. Myers took second early and chased down Welshans for the lead, taking it over on Lap 8 as Northem took second. Northem took the lead heading to the white flag and went on to score the win, his third of the season.
In the nightcap, Myers and Tim Welshans shared the front row with Myers showing the way early. Myers opened up his advantage over the field and held off Josh Hathaway and Dave Vona to score the win, his fourth of the season.
Adam Killingbeck and Mandie Orr led the field to green for the first Bank of Holland Hornets feature, with Orr showing the way early on. Bob Palmer took the lead from his sixth-place starting spot at the end of the first lap, with Jason Adams taking second away from Orr. Russo took the lead away from Adams at the halfway point and pulled away to score the win.
In the nightcap, Killingbeck and Bob Bogner set the front row, with Bogner jumping into the lead early. Jason Adams took the lead on Lap 5 as Szafraniec moved into second. Szafraniec took over the lead on Lap 8 and went on to score the win, his third of the season.
Racing continues on Saturday, August 27 with a full NASCAR Whelen All-American Series program including twin features for the Pro Chargers and an appearance by the NYPA TQ Midgets.
