This Sunday, August 28, the second annual Pete Cosco Memorial for the DIRTcar Modifieds will be held at Humberstone Speedway. This event is in honor and memory of Pete Cosco, who passed away two years ago.

“Last year’s event was strictly a 358 Modified event and this year we have decided to allow the Big Block Modifieds to come up and compete,” said Clinton Geoffrey, Humberstone Speedway’s Director of Race Night Operations. The Big Blocks will be going head to head against the best 358 Modified drivers that the Niagara Region and Western New York has to offer.

Gates will be opening at 4:30 p.m. Sunday with racing getting underway at 6:30 p.m.  for the six-division show presented by CAA Niagara.

The 75-lap Pete Cosco Memorial for the Modifieds will be paying $4,017 to the winner, $1,000 for second, $900 for third, $800 for fourth and $700 for fifth. Bonus money and lap sponsorship money are also up for grabs for the Modifieds. Each of the Humberstone weekly divisions will also be running for lap sponsorship money as well.

For the second year in a row, CAA Niagara will be presenting the racing action that will also feature a full card of DIRTcar Sportsman, RUSH Late Models, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Pro 4 Trucks as they continue to battle their way towards the 2016 track championships.

Last year’s event saw an epic battle throughout the event between Erick Rudolph and Mat Williamson with Rudolph getting the upper hand as the third-generation driver from Ransomville, NY went on to score the victory in the inaugural event. Find out more at
