The Ferris Mowers Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Modified Series fueled by Sunoco heads to Ohsweken Speedway in Ohsweken, Ontario for a special event designed for crate racers on Monday, July 25. The Northern Crate Nationals, created by Ohsweken Speedway, gives crate racers an opportunity to compete as the headline divisions at one of the Northeast’s finest facilities. Brad Rouse of St. Catherines, Ontario leads the Series to Ohsweken.

“This is a fun series for us and this race at Ohsweken (Speedway) is a great opportunity for our fans to come out and support our type of racing,” said Rouse, who has won the last two series races. “We have been fortunate and things have seemed to go our way and we are looking forward to a big night at Ohsweken. I think it’s going to be fun and it’s a great event for our division. We are definitely proud to be a part of it.”

It will be the series’ first visit to Ohsweken. The series opened its season at Humberstone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario, with Cody McPherson winning. Rouse found victory lane at Freedom Motorsports Park in Delevan, NY, as well as Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, NY, in his first-ever visit to the facility.

One of the unique items of the Burger Barn Northern Crate Nationals is that all entrants in the crate-specified events that night will be entered in a draw that gives away a crate engine.

“These racers are the backbone of our sport,” said Ohsweken Speedway General Manager, Clinton Geoffrey. “This is our opportunity to reward them and give them an opportunity to shine on a night that is dedicated to them. We have tried this and revamped it and we are looking forward to having a big night with the Race of Champions 602 Sportsman Modified Series and all of the crate series and racers in attendance. It’s going to be a very enjoyable program.”

Ohsweken Speedway is located at 16987 Chiefswood Rd. in Ohsweken, with grandstands opening at 3 p.m. and racing beginning at 7:30 p.m. Find out more at
