Brighton, Ontario’s Brandon Mowat scored his first career Go Nuclear Late Model Tour victory at Humberstone Speedway on Sunday, becoming the first Ontario-based driver to win in four series events at the Port Colborne oval.
In other action, Cody McPherson scored his third PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman victory of the 2016 season, while Dave Bailey earned his second victory of the season in the JC Auto Street Stocks. Craig Vlasic earned his third Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks win of the season, and Rob Goulding earned his second Cosco Haulage Mini Stock feature win in the past three weeks.
Mowat and Dennis Lunger Jr. led the Go Nuclear Late Model Tour to the green flag and the caution came out immediately in Turn 1 as Norm Mayhew, Andy Mayhew and Travis Martineau came together. On the restart, Mowat took the lead over Lunger and held on the rest of the way for the win; Lunger, Charlie Sandercock, Sam Pennacchio, and AJ Kingsley rounded out the top five.
Next Sunday night is the All-Canadian Championships, featuring extra distance races and extra money in all of the weekly classes. The Street Stocks will be featured in their Duel on the Dirt Championship Series event, and the Vintage Cars will be back on the program as well.
