|Street Stock driver Dave Wilson has two wins this season|
Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway has announced the addition of special race on the Saturday, June 25 Stock Car racing program: the Jeff Brown Sr. Memorial Street Stock 25 presented by Wilson Crane Service.
Jeff Brown Sr. was the father of two-time U.S. Open Late Model winner and current Sunoco Sportsman driver Jeff Brown; Brown Sr. recently passed away after a battle with cancer. In addition to helping his son's racing efforts, Brown Sr. was an influential person in the racing career of Advance Auto Parts Street Stock driver Dave Wilson and his family. Wilson, who is also the owner of Wilson Crane Services, wanted to pay tribute to his friend with this special race.
Wilson, a two-time winner this season at Lancaster in the Advance Auto Parts Streets Stocks, has donated his winnings from those two victories ($250) as a bonus for the top three finishers in the Jeff Brown Sr. Memorial. The feature winner will receive a $125 bonus, second will take home a $75 bonus and third place will receive $50 from Wilson Crane Services.
In addition to the cash bonus, Towel City Tire has donated a tire for the fourth-, fifth- and sixth-place finishers. Lancaster National Speedway tire distributor Bob Mullen of Speed Enterprises has donated a tire for each of the remaining top 10 finishers.
"This is an incredible testament to the type of people and racers we have here at Lancaster," said Lancaster Track President Tim Packman. "Dave Wilson came to us with this idea to honor Mr. Brown, offered his own winnings up to his fellow drivers and we were able to add some other items for fourth- to 10th-place courtesy of our partners.”
"Special thanks to Dave, his company, Towel City, Speed Enterprises and the Brown Family for their participation in this tribute race. This division puts on some great racing and we expect it even better now with the incentives they have for this event.”
The Jeff Brown Sr. Memorial 25 will be part of a full card of racing on Saturday, June 25, with racing starting at 6:30 p.m. The Advance Auto Parts Street Stocks will be joined by the Sunoco Sportsman, Roaming Buffalo 4-Cylinders and the only appearance of the New York Super Stock Series. There will also be an exhibition race at intermission with the Buffalo Cycle Club on their motorized bicycles. Find out more at www.lancasternationalspeedway.com.
