National weekend wrap-up: May 13-15, 2016

Sprint Cup Series – Matt Kenseth picked up his first win of the season after a late-race wreck-fest in the AAA 400 Drive for Autism on Sunday at Dover International Speedway in Delaware. Kyle Larson put up a good fight against Kenseth in the closing laps, settling for a runner-up finish, while rookie Chase Elliott put the pressure on Larson to finish third. Kasey Kahne and Kurt Busch rounded out the top five.

Xfinity Series – Erik Jones won his second Dash 4 Cash this season and locked in a spot in the Xfinity Series Chase with a win in the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet 200 at Dover on Saturday. Darrell Wallace Jr. finished second, followed by Alex Bowman in third. Justin Allgaier and Ty Dillon came home fourth and fifth, respectively.

Camping World Truck Series – Matt Crafton took the checkered flag in Friday’s Dover 200, beating Kyle Busch Motorsports drivers Daniel Suarez and Christopher Bell for the win. Johnny Sauter finished fourth, and Cole Custer came home fifth.

Verizon IndyCar Series – Simon Pagenaud made it three in a row with his win in the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday. Helio Castroneves finished second, followed by James Hinchcliffe in third. Graham Rahal and Charlie Kimball rounded out the top five.

NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series – Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel), Matt Hagan (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) earned Wallys on Sunday in the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway in Georgia.
