Port Colborne, Ontario’s Jeff Armstrong picked up his first win of season in the PC Works DIRTcar Sportsman on The Reeb House Night at the Humberstone Speedway. Dennis Lunger Jr. from Albion, Pennsylvania took the win in the Pinty’s RUSH Late Models, while Port Colborne’s Jason Fontaine won his second JC Auto Street Stock feature of the season. Kyle Tomaski from Dain City, Ontario picked up his first career win in the Mike Knapp Ford Pro 4 Trucks, and Kyle Haynes from Caledon, Ontario won the feature event for the Cosco Haulage Mini Stocks.
Armstrong took the lead on a Lap 14 restart in the Sportsman feature to pick up the third win of his career in the class. Cody McPherson finished second, followed by Justin Sharp, Chad Chevalier and Joey Mastrioanni.
Lunger took the lead on Lap 5 and held off a late-race challenge from Colton Ledingham to grab the RUSH Late Models win. Rob Pietz and Ledingham got together in Turn 3 of the final lap, giving up positions to Jeff Dayman, Travis Martineau, Tim Gillespie and Mike Greene in the top five.
Next Sunday, June 5, “the Winged Warriors with an Attitude”, the Southern Ontario Sprints, will make the first of two visits on the season, which will also feature the DIRTcar Sportsman, RUSH Late Models, Street Stocks, Pro 4 Trucks and Mini Stocks.
